I’ve really enjoyed being more boring over the last 6 months - lots of quiet mornings reading, doing little hobbies at home, etc. Part of me thinks it might be a part of adjusting to being in my mid 30’s? But either way, my nervous system loves being a little boring - it’s been lovely haha
I think what is considered "boring" is really just peace. Our society and culture has made us think that staying in, tending to smaller parts of life, feeling balanced and secure, is somehow contrary to growth and forward momentum. That if we are happy with our life, happy in our relationships, happy to be free of drama and chaos, there is something wrong.
I think it's beautiful to want a beautiful life and every chapter is a re-writing of what these words and desires mean. I think about this a lot too, and as I get older am learning to anchor in beauty in different ways. And I definitely believe that a slower life is not a less valuable life. If anything, perhaps you're enjoying the journey more now that you've been able to address your struggles.
Thanks for sharing such a personal note and thoughts.

I'm also turning 33 this year, and resonate with this so much!
